Save California’s Hospitals

With state budget hurting with the rest of us it’s important to remember the things we take for granted. California has made huge cuts to the health care budget and more cuts are on the way. This is an important subject since I work for a hospital system and so does my husband, my brother, my father, my uncle, my friends and co-workers, and possibly some of you readers or people you went to school with, certainly your primary care physician and their staff, and all of your local hospitals. The next time you need to head to the emergency room and it is no longer open know that you could have helped save your life. Currently each medi-cal patient that the hospital treats costs the hospital 22 cents/dollar. That either translates into a closed hospital or higher cost treatment for those not on medi-cal or medi-cal insured not accepted at hospitals without government contracts.
