Learning and Searching

So a friend of mine is having a baby in June which gives me just about enough time to find a pattern and knit it before the baby arrives. I’m not a very quick knitter yet. It takes me about 3-4 months to finish an easy scarf. Here is my question. Should I choose something more difficult like a sweater that the baby will out grow quickly or should I make a blanket that would take a lot of time to complete due to the size or should I go for a ton of wash clothes and small things like hats and booties. I’ve been unsuccessful knitting a sock yet but a bootie would probably be easier since it’s smaller. A hat would be simple. Wash clothes are easy but unexceptional. Blankets just about anyone could do a blanket given enough time and it’s almost better to buy something since the baby will probably loose it once they start wiggling around more. My mother had to keep a supply of small pillows because “they were my favorite” and I would ALWAYS loose them at the grocery store. My brother was just as bad with his favorite blanky. I’ll probably do a few wash clothes first and hope for enough time to finish a hat or booties or something. Summer really isn’t the right time to have a bunch of winter clothes anyway.

Once I get the hang of this I’m hoping to be more organized and add more pictures. Wish me luck!
