More happy soap
This batch might not turn out as well as the first but I rEaLLy wanted to try making soap with that “cool whip” frosted look on top so I gave it a whirl.
The loaf started with white soap with orange powder mixed in and drops of orange color to give it a marbled look. Not sure how the marbling will turn out because I added a layer of clear orange soap that ended up sinking into it a little so I pushed it all under so it will have a really thin layer of the white orange over the clear. After that came the fancy white whipped soap. I added jojoba beads that seemed to thicken it faster and made the cooling time shorter. When there was a thick enough film on my loaf I poured the white layer on top and proceeded to “stir and push” the white around until it thickened into whipped peaks. After that I quickly sprinkled jojoba beads and orange powder for some sparkle and color.
The soaping bug hadn’t left me at that point so I melted a small amount of white soap in two batches to do a similar experiment on bars. Those didn’t turn out as nice but I didn’t have as clear of a vision on what I wanted so I’m not surprised. It was educational though.
I was ready to be done with my soaping but there was one more thing I decided to do so I scrapped up all the left over soap off of 3 Pyrex containers and all the millions of spoons and other stirring implements I could get my hands on and ended up with just enough and a little extra to make 3 traveling soap tubes for your purse. Somewhere online I’d seen something similar with a push tube and I’m all out of those so a mini deodorant style tube will have to do.
and I’ll leave you with a pic of my fine feline, Zoey.
Ps: I’m also really excited that I’ve come up with a labeling concept that will get me up and running. That means new store items in a week or so, YEA!!!
